This is a piece of graffiti art on the wall of a grade 2 listed building in Milton Keynes. The owner, Derek, and his charity, Nadiya (Ukrainian word for hope) are trying to find homes for some of the 10 million people displaced internally and externally because of russian aggression. (My Ukrainian friends ask me not use a capital ‘R’ for russian.) (around 180,000 are displaced to the UK!)…….. They are still coming, and we need homes to support these people ….. please help, please if you have space!
People sometimes say, ‘What about Gaza?’ Around 1.7 million people are displaced because of Gaza, but most are making their way to Egypt, not to the UK. I understand people saying this if they are supporting Gaza, but this should never be an excuse for doing nothing!
This image is cropped to 10 million pixels, so if you think of every tiny dot in this image as representing one Ukrainian displaced person, mainly women and children, some of whom have lost their homes forever and face constant anxiety over husbands, fathers, brothers and sons who face death on the battlefield. Facebook will reduce the image size even further, so that each dot represents a person who needs your help in the UK.
