The church is a body of people all on a faith journey seeking and serving God. We all have different gifts but offer what we can so that together we come into the presence of God. One of the great joys of a church service, as well as entering into the presence of God, is the music. If you enjoy singing, why not join the choir or the worship group; if singing is not your thing then please do offer yourself for one of the other ways in which you can serve. Please ask our Church Warden, or anyone who you see already doing any of these if you would like to know more. If this is not something that you have done before then we will help you and walk alongside as you gain confidence. The list of rotas for the Sunday morning services is below.
- Sides people – Welcome, give out hymn books and service sheets, direct people during communion and tidy up at the end of the service
- Reader – Read the set bible passage for the service
- Intercessions – Lead prayers (intercede with God), normally for both local and international events
- Choir – Encourage others with your enthusiastic singing
- Sound system – Operator a simple amplifications system so that everyone can hear clearly, including those that rely on the loop audio system
- Ringing the bell – Call to the service
- Coffee – Serve tea and coffee after the service in the church barn
Outside of the church services the beauty of the services is also enhanced by those who keep the church clean and tidy and the flower arranging team who decorate the church week by week. New volunteers to join both of these teams are always welcome.
