St James Church in Biddenham is inviting new members to join our choir – and we would be delighted to welcome you.

Jesus commissioned his followers to spread the Gospel globally, empowered by the Holy Spirit, just as a doctor trains local workers to provide essential care.

The church enjoyed a great Easter with a new Good Friday service in the evening meditating on the meaning of the cross.

Jesus, God incarnate, died on Good Friday to forgive our sins and rose at Easter, offering eternal life to all who seek His rescue.

The Biddenham Handbell Ringers team was present at the National Rally of the Handbell Ringers of Great Britain held in Milton Keynes during the weekend of 12th April.

Lent mimics Jesus’ forty-day desert preparation. Beyond giving up treats, it invites us to accept his ultimate rescue mission: dying for our sins to restore us.

We had a great Carol service in the Churchyard on Christmas Eve, with almost 700 people from Biddenham and Great Denham.

The PCC donated £1,500 to the Leprosy Mission, supporting their work to treat leprosy, reduce disability and stigma, and empower affected communities. Church members also contributed via collection boxes, aiding medical care, education, and social change in leprosy-affected regions worldwide.

Good Friday service offers reflection on sacrifice, courage, and meaning at the heart of Easter. All are welcome to pause, pray, and share in the day’s significance, looking forward with hope toward Easter.

Graffiti highlights the plight of 10 million displaced Ukrainians, including 180,000 in the UK. Derek and his charity, Nadiya (“hope”), seek homes and support for mainly women and children affected by the war, urging action rather than inaction despite other global crises.

The story of Eve and the adulterous woman highlights how women have been unfairly blamed for moral failure. Jesus’ defense of the woman urges us to stop judging women, confront our own faults, and recognize their strength rather than scapegoating them.
