The Biddenham Handbell Ringers team was present at the National Rally of the Handbell Ringers of Great Britain held in Milton Keynes during the weekend of 12th April.
Kents Hill Park Training and Conference Centre was the venue for a gathering of around 250 ringers from all over the country. This is an opportunity to share our enthusiasm for handbells, play music together, listen to other teams, learn new techniques in workshops, purchase new equipment and music etc. We were one of eight teams invited to perform in the Saturday night concert which showcased a variety of styles of ringing; quite a nerve wracking experience.
In August 2026, some of us will be heading to Aberdeen for an International Symposium of Handbell Ringing. The last time it was held in the UK was 2012 in Liverpool. Ringers from around the world including Japan, America, Canada and Australia will be present.
Back in Biddenham, we continue to meet in the Church Barn at 2.30pm on a Wednesday afternoon. Since Christmas, we have played with smaller groups of members at nursing and residential homes as well as WIs and similar organisations.
December is always our busiest month with a range of performances including the Christmas Tree Festival, to guest spots with Opus 18 Community Choir and other charity concerts.
Please contact us if you are interested in joining us or would like us to perform.
