Ten Million Dots, Ten Million Lives

A fragment of the graffiti on a wall in Milton Keynes

Graffiti highlights the plight of 10 million displaced Ukrainians, including 180,000 in the UK. Derek and his charity, Nadiya (“hope”), seek homes and support for mainly women and children affected by the war, urging action rather than inaction despite other global crises.

International Women’s Day

A stylised picture of Eve; a maiden seated beneath a pomegranate tree

The story of Eve and the adulterous woman highlights how women have been unfairly blamed for moral failure. Jesus’ defense of the woman urges us to stop judging women, confront our own faults, and recognize their strength rather than scapegoating them.
