Please keep donating. This is our chance to help individuals and families in crisis, in the Bedford area. It is a simple, practical way that we can help to stop local people going hungry. It is a direct command by Jesus to feed the hungry.
We want to make sure that no one in our local community has to go hungry, but we need your help to make this happen. Your gift of financial support, time, business partnership and food can make a real difference.
See the Bedford Foodbank website for more information.

The Foodbank goes beyond providing emergency food; volunteers greet recipients with drinks and a listening ear, making them feel valued and offering guidance for broader challenges. Here are two powerful stories illustrating how Bedford Foodbank and local initiatives have supported those in need. These stories highlight a broader spirit of kindness, with neighbours, schools, and organizations coming together to ensure no one in the Bedford community goes hungry.
Rebuilding Lives Through Compassion

During the Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent cost-of-living challenges, Bedford Foodbank experienced a notable increase in demand, even from individuals who had never sought help before. Volunteer and project manager Sarah Broughton noted that many visitors were surprised to rely on food parcels due to job losses or delays in Universal Credit.
Acts of Generosity in Challenging Times

In addition to the Foodbank’s direct assistance, local community efforts have emphasized solidarity. For instance, 13-year-old Katya opted to forgo birthday gifts, raising about £500 in groceries to provide 108 meals for families in need. Similarly, residents of a local care home baked and donated artisan bread and created Christmas wreaths to spread festive cheer.
