Licensing ceremony for Rev Eric Lomax – Tues 31 Jan, 7.30pm at All Saints. We look forward to welcoming Rev Lomax to All Saints and St James:

Numbers: There are lists to sign in both churches to give us some idea of how many people we can expect. It would also help with the catering if you let us know if you are NOT staying after the service. We hope as many people as possible will attend the evening.
Parking: As there is limited car parking available and only in the main car park at All Saints the organising committee suggest that people arrive early (not later than 7pm), to allow time to park and where possible arrange to share lifts.
Transport: When you sign could you indicate if you are prepared to offer transport or if you need to have a lift.
Contacts: For All Saints: Alan Lowe (857212) and for St. James: Sue Squire (342373)

St James Churchwardens – As mentioned before, after many years of dedicated service, Laurie Hurn will not seek re-election in April.  Edwin is happy to continue assuming replacement(s) can be found. We can have two churchwardens and up to three Deputy Church Wardens (so the role can be shared). The role(s) are not too onerous and can be tailored to fit around other commitments. Churchwardens provide an invaluable link between congregation and clergy – without this it is difficult for a church to function effectively.  Please consider carefully whether this is something you might be able to do.  For more information or to express an interest, please speak to either Laurie or Edwin Martin.

St James house group at 15 Church End Biddenham, 7.30pm Thurs 2 Feb – Faith Pictures theme led by David and Suzette Maguire. The evening will start with a meal. Everybody welcome but please let us know for catering. Edwin Martin (348718)

St James men’s group at 15 Church End Biddenham, 7pm Fri 10 Feb – the “sermon on the mount” again. Starts with a pint and a meal. All men welcome but please let us know for catering. As an early flyer, next month (10 Mar) we will be inviting Duncan Goldthorpe to think with us about whether all this talk actually means something in real everyday life. Edwin Martin (348718)

All Saints Lunch Club, Wed 15 Feb 12.30pm at The Half Moon.  Everyone welcome, for details contact Anita Lowe (857212)

St James Roast Lunch, Sun 5 Feb at 1pm in the Church Barn, Tickets cost £13 with glass of wine. Raffle. Please sign list or contact Sue Squire (342373).

St James Churchyard: With the grass-cutting season approaching we are looking for volunteers to join a rota to cut the grass in front of the Church. This is probably for 2/3 times during the mowing season, usually on a Saturday if possible. Please contact Laurie Hurn (364251).

St James Church Barn Administrator needed to run the church barn.  This involves bookings, billing etc. Please call Anne Church for details (214805).
