Thank You: Licensing ceremony – Thank you to everyone who provided, and prepared the lovely flower displays in church, and who provided refreshments, and helped to serve them at Eric’s Licensing; it all helped to make it a wonderful evening.
St James Churchwardens – After many years of dedicated service, Laurie Hurn will not seek re-election in April. Edwin Martin is happy to continue assuming replacement(s) can be found. We can have two churchwardens and up to three Deputy Church Wardens (so the role can be shared). The role(s) are not too onerous and can be tailored to fit around other commitments. Churchwardens provide an invaluable link between congregation and clergy – without this it is difficult for a church to function effectively. Please consider carefully whether this is something you might be able to do. For more information or to express an interest, please speak to either Laurie or Edwin.
St James men’s group at 15 Church End Biddenham, 7pm Fri 10 Feb – the “sermon on the mount” again. Starts with a pint and a meal. All men welcome but please let us know for catering. As an early flyer, next month (10 Mar) we will be inviting Duncan Goldthorpe to think with us about whether all this talk actually means something in real everyday life. Edwin Martin
PCC Membership/Deanery Synod Representation – At the St James’s annual meeting in April, we will need to elect four PCC members and two Deanery Synod representatives. If you are interested in either position, or would like more information, please speak to Jacqui Piper

St James Churchyard: With the grass-cutting season approaching we are looking for volunteers to join a rota to cut the grass in front of the Church. This is probably for 2/3 times during the mowing season, usually on a Saturday if possible. Please contact Laurie Hurn.
