Bishop’s Harvest Appeal

This year, we celebrate the Harvest Festival on Sunday 5 October and we will be raising funds for the Bishop’s Harvest Appeal, which is directed this year at improving literacy among women in Egypt, through the work of Christian Aid’s partner, the Coptic Orthodox Church Bless (COC Bless).

COC Bless works in a village for five years and sets up a village development committee, which focusses on education, health and economic development and supports the community in learning new skills, cleaning up their environment or sharing tools and expertise. The education programme of COC Bless sets up literacy courses for women and training for new teachers.

At the Harvest we will also be collecting non-perishable food, hats, gloves and socks for the Kings Arms Project in Bedford as usual.
