St James's Church, Biddenham

Church Services

The Sunday services at St. James's are sung, with a robed choir and an organist in the morning and hymns and canticles accompanied by an organist or pianist at Evensong.
Hymns are from Common Praise with Junior Praise for the family service.
The first Sunday of the month there is a shortened Family Communion.
Liturgy is mainstream Anglican, with Common Worship in the mornings and Book of Common Prayer at Evensong.
Sermons are usually based on the Bible readings for the day and take account of current theological and biblical scholarship.
Seasonal services include Harvest, Advent services, Christingle, various Carol services and a Midnight and Christmas Day Eucharist. There are the usual services, including Compline, on the days of Holy Week, Maunday Thursday and Good Friday.
