Sue and I have just returned from a most enjoyable glamping holiday at the “Le Pas Opton” camping site in the westerly Vendee region of France. The camp was only a leisurely 20 minute bike ride from the Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie coastline.
The resort is run by Spring Harvest Holidays. Spiritual input as part of the holiday experience is integral to its ethos, but of course in no way obligatory. Chris Sinkinson, from Moorlands College in Dorset, gave us an inspired series entitled “Overview of the Bible in five sessions(!)” in the mornings, and discussed a number of noteworthy personal encounters with Jesus in the evenings.
If you would prefer the familiarity of an essentially English-speaking camp site in the heart of France, then this will tick that box.
We thoroughly recommend this destination, and for those of you without kids, especially the shoulder season at the beginning of September. 2017 dates and prices will be out soon.
