Evening services:  1st Sunday: Holy Eucharist at St. James;   2nd Sunday: Evening Prayer at All Saints (but as above, not 9 Oct);  3rd Sunday: Evening Prayer at St. James

St James new pew cushions. The PCC has decided to replace the current (worn out) pew runners.  Cost is approx. £4,000.   If you would like to make a donation towards a comfy seat in church please put in an envelope marked “Seat Cushions” (yellow envelope if you wish to gift aid) and give to Ann Morrish, Laurie Hurn or Jacqui Piper.

Autumn Course on ‘Exploring Prayer’ is an experiential course lead by Suzette Maguire to help us pray more effectively. 5  Mondays at 7.30pm at All Saints church hall from 31 Oct to 6 Dec with one Tuesday: 15 Nov. Suzette, who has run this course before, would find it helpful if you would sign notice. We pray more than we think, let’s do it better! (tel 341912).

Bishop’s visit Thurs 13 Oct. Bishop Richard is very keen to meet people of the deanery at St. Marks, Brickhill, MK41 7UY, 7:30pm: Welcome of wine, tea, or coffee and hors d’oeuvres followed by short address by Bishop Richard, then questions (40 minutes), a short time of prayer finishing with compline by 9:00 pm. The bishop has suggested that Synod members invite 2-3 not on Synod. If interested, contact a Churchwarden or Christopher Dawe.

Table+ meet for fellowship, food and prayer with David and Suzette Maguire in their home. Just bring along some nibbles (or finger food) to share and come along. The next ‘Table+’, is Sun 16 Oct, 7.30 pm, at 39 Broad Mead Avenue, Great Denham. We look forward to welcoming you (tel 341912).

St James Harvest Festival Sun 2 Oct. Collection for Bishop’s Harvest Appeal: ‘Life-giving Water’, Madagascar . Also supporting The King’s Arms Charity with gifts given during the service of non-perishable food and practical items like socks, hats, gloves, underclothes and men’s toiletries. After the service everyone is invited to a free continental breakfast in the Barn (donations to the Bishop’s Appeal).

All Saints Harvest Festival Sun 2 Oct. Collection for Bishop’s Harvest Appeal ‘Life Giving Water’, Madagascar. Gifts of produce, tins, men’s toiletries etc to go to Prebend Day Centre.
